Step One: Connect

When you teach your baby a second language in a fun way, you create an atmosphere of mutual enjoyment that strengthens your connection. You establish a positive association for your child between learning and fun. To choose the best activities, you should keep in mind these criteria:

Affection

We always want the baby to relate learning the second language (L2) with his or her parents’ affection. Choose moments that reinforce the bond between you and your baby.

Calm

Baby will learn better when he or she feels relaxed. Choose tranquil moments and be sure to transmit a happy and calm energy.

Fun

Babies learn by playing. Incorporate English (or the second language) into baby’s favorite activities and he or she will learn more. Stimulate the five senses by using Music, Movement, and Manipulatives.
